According to the latest report of OAG (Official Airline Guide), the world's leading aviation data analysis organization, the most impressive highlight in the July rankings is the breakthrough of the Da Nang (DAD) - Hanoi (HAN) route.

The route has made a remarkable leap forward, entering the Top 10 busiest domestic routes in the world and taking the eighth position.

The growth rate of seat supply on this route reached 10% compared to the same period last year.

This is one of the highest growth rates in the Top 10, behind only Saudi Arabia's Jeddah (JED) - Riyadh (RUH) route (up 16%).

This growth not only demonstrates the appeal of Da Nang as a top tourist destination but also underscores Hanoi’s central role in connecting with key economic regions in the Central region.

In addition, the route connecting the two largest economic and political centers of the country, Hanoi (HAN) and Ho Chi Minh City (SGN), continues to be one of the busiest domestic air routes in the world, maintaining its third place in the rankings.

Although the number of seats offered decreased slightly by 1% compared to the same period in 2024, this route is still the backbone of Vietnam's domestic flight network, playing an indispensable role in promoting trade, tourism and economic connectivity.

This position is only behind two extremely busy routes: Jeju (CJU) - Seoul (GMP) of South Korea (with 1.17 million seats) and Sapporo (CTS) - Tokyo (HND) of Japan.

Maintaining stability at the top shows that the demand for travel between Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City is still very high.

OAG’s report also paints a picture of the global aviation market. While Asian routes continue to dominate the domestic rankings, other regional markets have also seen significant fluctuations. For example, India’s Mumbai (BOM) – Delhi (DEL) route saw the largest capacity drop of 9%, dropping it to ninth place.

Meanwhile, in the international market, the Asia-Pacific region continues to dominate, accounting for seven of the top 10 busiest routes. Airports such as Seoul Incheon (ICN), Hong Kong (HKG), and Singapore Changi (SIN) each appear twice on the list, underscoring their role as important global hubs.

This ranking was compiled by OAG based on calculations of scheduled seat traffic on flights in both directions in July 2025, using reliable data from the Schedules Analyser tool.
