(Fatherland) - The contest for excellent tour guides in Da Nang City aims to improve knowledge and professional skills for the team of tour guides, while creating opportunities for exchange, learning and sharing experiences among tour guides.
After the Preliminary Round from November 16 to 23, on the morning of December 7, the Organizing Committee of the Contest "Excellent Tour Guide of Da Nang City in 2024" held the Final Round with 10 excellent candidates.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, said that the 2024 Da Nang City Excellent Tour Guide Competition was organized with the aim of improving knowledge and professional skills for the tour guide team, while creating opportunities for exchange, learning and sharing experiences among tour guides.
"The contest not only contributes to honoring the tour guide profession but also spreads the spirit of enthusiasm and professionalism, arouses the passion for the profession of the tour guide team, contributing to building a generation of good tour guides to join hands in building the image of Da Nang tourism," said Ms. An.
The organizers have selected the 10 best candidates from both international and domestic categories to enter the Final Round.
According to Ms. An, after many successful organizations, the 2024 Contest continues to be a useful and meaningful playground for tour guides, attracting the participation of a large number of contestants who are tour guides working in Da Nang city.
After the preliminary round with two parts: Video presentation on tourism topics; Multiple choice test on specialized knowledge, skills, tour guide skills, knowledge about routes and tourist destinations, the Organizing Committee selected the 10 best candidates from the two international and domestic categories to go to the Final Round.
In the Final Round, the contestants compete in 3 categories: Field competition to make videos at Sun World Ba Na Hills Tourist Area - contestants will make videos introducing 10 destinations, the Organizing Committee will post these videos on the Danang FantastiCity fanpage and the tiktok channel @danangfantastic and calculate interaction points based on likes and shares; this is one of the differences of this year's contest to show the adaptability of tour guides to the use of digital technology and digital platforms in the current digital transformation context. Along with the above contest is a 5-minute thematic presentation and answering questions on how to handle situations from the judges; a 5-minute tour guide talent contest.
The 2024 contest continues to be a useful and meaningful playground for tour guides, attracting the participation of a large number of contestants who are tour guides working in Da Nang city.
According to the Organizing Committee, the total prize value for the two international and domestic competitions is 90 million VND (cash and in kind), including 2 First prizes (Certificate of Merit from the Organizing Committee, prize value equivalent to 15 million VND/prize); 2 Second prizes (Certificate of Merit from the Organizing Committee, prize value equivalent to 10 million VND/prize); 2 Third prizes (Certificate of Merit from the Organizing Committee, prize value equivalent to 8 million VND/prize); 4 consolation prizes (Certificate of Merit from the Organizing Committee, prize value equivalent to 5 million VND/prize).
There are also secondary prizes including 1 prize for the contestant with the best speech performance; 1 prize for the contestant with the best talent performance; 1 prize for the contestant with the most favorite video; 1 prize for the most enthusiastic cheering team; 5 prizes for the audience in the interaction section.
The leaders of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang city shared that, with the support and response of tour guides and the tourism business community, the "Excellent Tour Guide of Da Nang City 2024" Contest will continue to be maintained, gradually upgrading the scale and quality in the following years to contribute to improving the quality of the tour guide team and strengthening the relationship between state management agencies, the Tour Guide Association, tourism businesses and tour guides, joining hands to develop the city's tourism industry./.
