Bringing Indian cuisine closer to Hanoi people

The Indian Embassy in Hanoi is organizing a week-long food festival, featuring two chefs from the land of the Ganges.

The Indian Food Festival takes place from November 6-11 at the Sheraton Hotel to bring a rich and diverse Indian culinary experience to the people of Hanoi .

Chef Arun Kumar of the renowned 5-star hotel The Ashok in New Delhi, along with an experienced chef, has curated and presented a variety of delicious authentic Indian dishes during the festival.

Food lovers in Hanoi were treated to an exquisite menu of regional specialties, delicious flavors and creative dishes that highlighted the essence of Indian cuisine such as Amritsar fish, Bengal fish curry, Murgh Awadhi Korma (chicken stew in gravy), Dal Tadka (lentil stew with spices), Paneer (Indian cheese), Murg Malai Tikka (grilled chicken tikka), Gosht Shami Kebab (minced meat patties) and many more.

On November 11, the Embassy organized a special cultural exchange evening with officials from ministries, diplomatic corps and media agencies to enjoy Indian dishes.

Speaking at the event, Indian Ambassador Sandeep Arya shared the close cultural and civilisational ties between India and Vietnam and Southeast Asia in general, reflected in many aspects from spirituality, arts, crafts, historical relics and the subtleties in customs, cultural values, costumes and cuisine, although each place has its own unique features.

The Ambassador also mentioned that the Food Festival is organized under the framework of the Mekong-Ganga Cooperation (MGC) to celebrate the close ties and bonds between the people of India and the five member countries of Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam.

The Indian Food Festival is part of a series of cultural, tourism, yoga, business and other exchange events at the provincial level in recent years, creating new momentum in the India-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
