Nghi Xuan District People's Committee (Ha Tinh) has just announced a change in the plan to organize the Cho Cui Temple Festival in 2023, including stopping the organization of sports and cultural activities.

Previously, according to the plan of Nghi Xuan District People's Committee, Cho Cui Temple Festival will be held for 2 days (November 21 - 22, 2023, on October 9 and 10, Quy Mao year) at Cho Cui Temple relic in Xuan Hong commune.

The program consists of two parts: ceremony and festival; in which, the ceremony to commemorate the death of Quan Hoang Muoi (the main saint worshiped at the temple) will take place on the morning of November 22, which is the 10th day of the 10th lunar month. The festival includes sports and cultural activities, including: men's volleyball tournament, tug of war tournament of Xuan Hong commune, scheduled to take place on November 21, 2023; the art program will take place at 7:30 p.m. on the same day.

However, considering that the conditions for organization are not suitable and guaranteed; based on the opinion of the Standing Committee of Nghi Xuan District Party Committee, the District People's Committee - the Organizing Committee of Cho Cui Temple Festival announced to stop organizing the following activities: tug of war, volleyball, opening ceremony and mass art program. Other activities will continue as planned. The Organizing Committee will provide detailed information later.

The 2023 Cho Cui Temple Festival aims to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the nation, commemorate the merits of the gods who have contributed to the country. At the same time, through the festival, to propagate and educate the tradition of patriotism, love for the homeland, and national pride for generations; mobilize and gather many organizations and social forces to actively preserve, promote and exploit the values of cultural heritage associated with economic and social development; promote the culture and image of the homeland to domestic and foreign tourists.
