Gasoline prices increase across the board, RON95-III up to nearly 21,300 VND/liter

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued an urgent document to key traders and distributors of gasoline and oil regarding the management of domestic retail gasoline and oil prices.

Accordingly, from 3:00 p.m. today (June 19), the ceiling price of E5RON92 gasoline is 20,631 VND/liter, an increase of 1,169 VND/liter compared to the current price; the new price of RON95-III gasoline is 21,244 VND/liter, an increase of 1,277 VND/liter compared to the current price.

During this period, diesel increased by VND1,456/liter to VND19,156/liter; kerosene increased by VND1,412/liter, the new price is VND18,923/liter, and fuel oil increased by VND1,182, the new price is VND17,643/kg.

Along with that, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requested not to set aside and not to use the Price Stabilization Fund for petroleum products. As for the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex), as of the time before the price adjustment, the balance of the Price Stabilization Fund (BOG) at the enterprise was 3,083 billion VND, remaining stable compared to the most recent announcement period.

This is also the fourth consecutive increase in domestic gasoline prices. Most recently (June 12), gasoline prices increased across the board, with E5 RON92 gasoline increasing by VND199 per liter; RON95-III gasoline increasing by VND269 per liter; diesel increasing by VND280 per liter; kerosene increasing by VND227 per liter and fuel oil increasing by VND283 per kilogram.

According to Decree No. 80/2023/ND-CP amending and supplementing a number of articles of Decree No. 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 and Decree No. 83/2014/ND-CP dated September 3, 2014 of the Government on petroleum trading, the period of petroleum price management will be shortened from 10 days to 7 days, implemented every Thursday.

In case the price management period coincides with a holiday according to regulations, it will be implemented as follows: If Thursday coincides with the first day of the holiday, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the previous Wednesday. If Thursday coincides with the remaining holidays, the petrol price management period will be implemented on the first working day after the holiday./.
