On the evening of October 29, the leader of the People's Committee of Tay Ho District ( Hanoi ) said that the district had requested the People's Committee of Quang An Ward to terminate the signed contract and at the same time requested the investor to move 8 tons of koi fish out of Dam Dong Lake.

According to this person, in November, in the newly signed contract, Dam Dong Lake only grows lotus to maintain the craft village according to city regulations. Therefore, the released fish must be moved out of the lake.

"According to Decision 1614 of the Hanoi People's Committee, Dam Dong Lake can only grow lotus and cannot raise fish. The locality also gave the investor time to relocate the fish so there was no damage," informed the leader of the Tay Ho District People's Committee.

Dam Dong Lake is located on Quang Ba Street (Quang An Ward, Tay Ho District, Hanoi), covering an area of 3.5 hectares. Dam Dong Lake is on the list of ponds, lakes, and lagoons that cannot be filled in Hanoi according to Decision 1614 issued by the Hanoi People's Committee.

Previously, last June, a private enterprise in Hanoi released 8 tons of koi fish (about 12,000 fish) into Dam Dong Lake to provide tourism services.

On weekends, the number of visitors to the koi fish area reaches hundreds of people.
