Hai Duong starts to remove temporary, dilapidated houses for 100% of households eligible for support

Up to now, Hai Duong province authorities have organized the demolition of temporary and dilapidated houses for 100% of households eligible for support.


The leader of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Duong province said: By March 12, the entire Hai Duong province had started repairing and rebuilding 100% of households eligible for financial support to remove temporary and dilapidated houses.

According to statistics, Hai Duong has started construction of 1,453 houses, 185 households no longer need to request to be removed from the list of support for the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses. Thus, 100% of households eligible for support for the removal of temporary and dilapidated houses have started construction according to the schedule required by the Chairman of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee. Of the 1,453 houses that have started construction, 676 households have built new houses and 777 households have repaired them. To date, 239 households have completed repairs and 21 households have completed new construction.

In localities, the process of building houses for poor households has the full participation of the government and organizations. The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Duong province has received over 5.2 billion VND in support of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses. In addition, a number of units have registered to support with an estimated amount of about 20 billion VND.

In addition, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in the province have coordinated with the authorities and mass organizations to call for and mobilize material support, labor days, and materials for households to build new houses and repair degraded houses. Immediately after launching, Hai Duong Provincial Police registered nearly 570 officers and soldiers to coordinate with other forces to participate in supporting the implementation of construction. Hai Duong Provincial Military Command registered to support 50% of the total number of working days for repaired houses, 30% of the total number of working days for newly built houses, with an estimated number of working days participating of about 5,400 - 7,560 working days. The Provincial Women's Union registered to participate in supporting 18,781 working days. The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the province participated in supporting 11,460 working days.

To achieve the goal of completely eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area by June 2025, the entire political system from the province to the grassroots level has taken responsibility and urgently.
