On May 31, the Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee approved Tri Nam Group Joint Stock Company to continue piloting the TNGo public bicycle service project in the city, with an extension of the pilot period of 2 years.
Accordingly, Tri Nam Group Joint Stock Company is allowed to continue to use sidewalks on the roads for free to set up bicycle parking spots.
Public bicycle service project as a friendly transport solution is piloted in Hai Phong.
Hai Phong City leaders assigned the People's Committees of Hong Bang, Le Chan, Ngo Quyen and Hai An districts to preside over the Department of Transport and the City Police to inspect and handle issues related to security, order and traffic safety at bicycle parking stations in the management area.
At the same time, there are measures to propagate and remind people with businesses not to encroach on parking areas, affecting the use of public bicycle services by people and tourists.
Along with that, the Department of Finance and the City Tax Department are assigned to guide Tri Nam Group Joint Stock Company to implement regulations related to public bicycle service prices and fulfill obligations to pay related taxes.
The TNGo public bicycle service project officially operated from March 2023 in Hai Phong with a pilot scale in 4 districts: Hong Bang, Le Chan, Ngo Quyen and Hai An, with 47 stations and about 460 vehicles, nearly 55,500 registered accounts.
Up to now, after 1 year of pilot implementation, the public bicycle service project has been welcomed and positively responded by residents and tourists to Hai Phong.
The project has contributed to building a bicycle culture, encouraging people to use bicycles as a friendly and effective transportation solution, contributing to improving community health.
In particular, the project contributes to providing more travel options for tourists when coming to Hai Phong, creating a friendly image in the eyes of tourists, thereby promoting the city's tourism development.
