Việt NamViệt Nam21/03/2024

On the afternoon of March 21, Hoa Lu District People's Committee held a conference to review the work of natural disaster prevention, control, search and rescue (PCTT&TKCN), forest fire prevention in 2023 and deploy PCTT&TKCN, forest fire prevention in 2024.

In 2023, the district experienced 9 large-scale heat waves. To proactively respond to natural disasters, the district promptly completed the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue, and coordinated with military units stationed in the area to increase forces participating in disaster prevention and control, protecting key areas and conducting search and rescue operations in the district.

Localities in the district have done a good job of "4 on-site" work; linking the building of safe communities with the implementation of safety criteria for disaster prevention and control in new rural construction. Attention has been paid to the management, investment, construction, maintenance, and upgrading of dykes, dams, and other disaster prevention and control works.

Immediately after each natural disaster, the District Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control always guides and urges communes and towns to review and summarize the damage. In 2023, natural disasters did not greatly affect people's lives and production in the district.

In 2024, according to forecasts, the weather and hydrological climate will have complex and unpredictable developments, strongly affected by climate change. The district has proposed solutions such as: It is necessary to proactively prevent strong storms, widespread heavy rains, high floods on river banks, droughts, thunderstorms, sun and wind, monsoons...

Strengthen and complete the PCTT & TKCN Command Boards of communes, towns, agencies and units located in the district. Review and supplement rescue vehicles in communes, towns and agencies and units in the district to promptly rescue on the spot when bad situations occur.

Organize training and drills for disaster prevention and control, improve search and rescue capacity. Complete the repair of dykes, embankments, and culverts according to regulations before May 15, 2024.

Strive to maintain the existing natural forest area of more than 2,700 hectares and improve the quality of natural forests through enhanced forest conservation and protection as well as the most appropriate silvicultural techniques to improve forest quality and prevent human-caused forest fires.
