More than 6,200 billion VND in loans for poor households and policy beneficiaries

The provincial Social Policy Bank informed that the province is currently implementing 20 credit programs for lending to poor households and policy beneficiaries, with a total outstanding debt of over VND 6,200 billion with nearly 115,000 poor households and policy beneficiaries still having outstanding debt.

Tan Son District Social Policy Bank organized mobile working sessions to disburse preferential loans to ethnic minorities in Tam Thanh commune at the commune People's Committee headquarters.

Along with the growth in credit scale, the quality of social policy credit continues to be consolidated and improved. Total overdue debt and debt forgiveness currently accounts for only 0.14% of total outstanding debt, of which overdue debt accounts for 0.126% of total outstanding debt, lower than the national average.

Over the past 10 years, from the central budget and local budget, more than 485 thousand poor households, near-poor households, newly escaped poverty households and other policy beneficiaries have been able to borrow capital from the Social Policy Bank. Social policy credit capital has been invested in 225/225 communes, wards and towns, 100% of villages and residential areas, helping over 48 thousand households overcome the poverty line. Attracting and creating jobs for nearly 24 thousand workers; creating conditions for nearly 9 thousand students in difficult circumstances to borrow capital to study. Building nearly 4,000 houses for poor households and social housing. Up to now, the whole province has 163 communes meeting the criteria for multidimensional poverty reduction (accounting for 83.2%), the appearance of rural mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas has changed significantly.
