The Forum has traditionally sought to address the most pressing issues facing the economic, social and infrastructure development of the Russian Far East and various aspects of cooperation and integration in the broader Asia-Pacific region.

The theme of this year's Forum is “The Path to Partnership, Peace and Prosperity”, reflecting Russia's desire to build constructive relations with all interested foreign partners.

This also shows that the Russian Federation is completely open to comprehensive dialogue on pressing regional issues and intends to continue to actively participate in efforts to nurture relations between countries in the Asia-Pacific region and contribute to a system based on equality, mutual benefit and respect, in the legitimate interests of all.

Discussions during the Forum's plenary sessions, panel discussions and thematic roundtables will focus on prospects for expanding cooperation in trade, investment, science and technology, identifying ways to create new, highly efficient production and logistics chains, modernizing transport and energy systems, and ensuring food and environmental security in the region.

In the current economic and political context, the Eastern International Economic Forum is an important event for Russia to promote its policy towards the East, and is also a place to put forward ideas and initiatives to form a dynamic economic development region in Asia-Pacific in general, and Southeast Asia in particular.
