Exploiting irrigation works, Hai Duong responds to storm No. 3

Flood control pumping stations are ready to operate at full capacity to ensure timely flood prevention.

On the morning of September 5, the water level in the rivers in Hai Duong area was very low, facilitating the natural drainage. Therefore, the company opened the entire sewer system to lower the water level in the main canal, in anticipation of possible heavy rains in the coming days. 166 combined irrigation and drainage pumping stations managed by the company were inspected, ensuring they were ready to operate at full capacity when ordered to operate. The company inspected the basins, assessed the growth of crops to divide the drainage zones appropriately and effectively. In particular, the Chi Linh City Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise inspected the dam system, strictly implemented the operating procedures, and worked with relevant localities to notify the reservoir discharge plan when necessary.

Hai Duong is implementing self-flowing sluice gates to lower the water level of the main canal, in preparation for heavy rain caused by storm No. 3.

It is forecasted that areas in the province will have level 9 gusts of wind due to the impact of storm No. 3. In addition to flood prevention work, Hai Duong Province Irrigation Works Exploitation One Member Co., Ltd. also deployed reinforcement of old pumping stations, protected machinery and equipment, and trimmed trees around the pumping station area.
