Stargazers around the world have been treated to a sight of a supermoon - a full moon that appears red or yellow at twilight. A supermoon is a full moon that appears slightly closer to Earth than usual.
The moon on the night of August 19 is just the first of four supermoons in a row this year. Other supermoons will occur in September, October and November.
