Expanding international cooperation in the field of science and technology

DNO - On October 4, a delegation from the Department of Science and Technology said they had visited and worked at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), the Training Center for Safety Technology and Fireproof Materials, and the Carbon Science and Innovation Center of the Australian Research Council (ARC).

This is an activity to expand Da Nang 's international cooperation with research institutions in Australia in the fields of science, technology and innovation, contributing to the sustainable development of the city in the coming time.

At UNSW, the delegation and UNSW representatives discussed the potential for cooperation in technology research and development, experience in promoting innovation between the two sides; the importance of connecting between disciplines, businesses and governments in forming a strong innovation ecosystem.

UNSW is known to be one of the leading training units in fields such as engineering, information technology, and cyber security, as well as participating in many international research projects with more than 200 global partners.

During the visit, the delegation also had a working session at the ARC Training Center for Safety Technology and Fire Retardant Materials.

The two sides discussed future cooperation opportunities. The delegation also expressed interest in research on nanotechnology and fire-resistant biological materials, and innovative fire-fighting models. This is a field that is very suitable for Da Nang's orientation in developing a smart and sustainable urban area, with a focus on fire safety and environmental management.

At the Center for Carbon Science and Innovation (COE-CSI), the delegation discussed the potential for cooperation in areas related to clean energy and green chemical production, contributing to Da Nang's zero emission target.

On the afternoon of October 3, the delegation visited the University of Sydney, one of the leading educational institutions in Australia.

Here, the delegation participated in working sessions and discussions with professors and experts in the field of chips, semiconductors and telecommunications; new trends in telecommunications technology, focusing on performance optimization, applications and discussing the possibility of future cooperation. Thereby, expanding the connection network, promoting the development of the chip and telecommunications sector in Da Nang in particular and Vietnam in the future.
