Culture, Sports and Tourism Sector: Accelerating to complete tasks by 2025

On the morning of July 17, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MCST) held a conference to review the work of the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2025.

The conference took place both in person and online at 35 locations (the central location at the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and 34 locations at the People's Committees of provinces/cities directly under the Central Government.

Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung chaired the conference. Attending at the Dak Lak province bridge were leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and a number of relevant agencies and units.

The conference is connected to 34 points which are provinces and centrally-run cities.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Ministry's leadership will proactively lead and direct all areas of work decisively, promptly, flexibly and comprehensively; promptly remove difficulties and obstacles for the operations of agencies and units under the Ministry; and focus on directing the resolution of outstanding issues from the previous period.

Tourism has grown impressively, continuing to be a bright spot in contributing to the country's socio -economic development. The total number of international visitors in the first 6 months of 2025 reached more than 10.6 million, up 20.7% over the same period. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at about 518 trillion VND.

Activities to preserve and promote cultural heritage have been effectively implemented; press, communication and publishing have had many positive changes; the fight against bad and toxic information has been carried out regularly and continuously with increasingly improved efficiency.

Mass physical education and sports movements have developed strongly; high-performance sports have made progress; cultural and entertainment industries have shown positive signs of development with many unique and creative cultural products and activities.

In Dak Lak province, in the first 6 months of the year, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism achieved important results in the areas under its responsibility. After the merger of administrative units, cultural, sports and tourism activities in July 2025 developed strongly, welcoming about 710,000 visitors, with tourism revenue estimated at VND 1,420 billion, up 58.42% over the same period in 2024.

At the conference, delegates discussed specific solutions and measures to promote the progress and quality of completing key tasks in the coming time. Accordingly, in the last 6 months of 2025, the Culture, Sports and Tourism sector will focus on effectively implementing the Government's resolutions on socio-economic development, improving the business environment, ensuring the growth target of over 8% in 2025; continue to focus on guiding and implementing the decentralization and assignment of authority in the sector's fields when organizing two-level local governments; review legal regulations to promptly remove bottlenecks to serve the development of science, technology, and digital transformation in accordance with the specific characteristics of the sector...

Concluding the conference, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung requested that localities, together with the Ministry, accelerate and make breakthroughs with innovative thinking, strategic vision, foresight, deep thinking, big action, promoting intelligence, courage, valuing time, being decisive and resolute to effectively organize and implement the goals, tasks and solutions set out in 2025. At the same time, focus on prioritizing resources for developing science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the industry with the spirit of "only discussing doing, not discussing back".
