The pilot auction of car license plates officially takes effect from July 1, 2023. People nationwide will have the right to choose and compete to own the license plates they desire.

From July 1, 2023, Resolution No. 73/2022 of the 15th National Assembly on pilot auction of car license plates will officially come into effect and take effect for 3 years.
Thus, people can own beautiful car license plates of the entire range of car license plates available in 63 provinces and cities through online auctions.
According to Resolution 73, car license plates put up for auction must meet two conditions: Car license plates have a white background, black letters and numbers, except in some special cases; Car license plates have not been registered.
The new license plates expected to be issued will be publicly auctioned by the Ministry of Public Security and the following sources:
- National electronic information portal on property auctions.
- Ministry of Public Security electronic information portal.
- Traffic Police Department website.
- Online website of the property auction organization.
The auction of beautiful car license plates will be held in the form of online auction with ascending bid method.
Note: The amount of money collected from the auction of car license plates after deducting the costs of organizing the auction shall be paid into the central budget according to the provisions of the law on the state budget.
Recently, the Traffic Police Department (Ministry of Public Security) organized training for officers of units under the Ministry of Public Security on asset auction operations and auction supervision.
The Traffic Police Department informed: "For citizens, they can register to participate in the auction of license plates of all provinces and cities across the country, without being limited by regulations on local permanent address."
It is forecasted that from June 24 to the night of June 25, in the North, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain. There is a high risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas.
