On the morning of September 8, the rising water level of Ky Cung and Thuong rivers affected the districts of Loc Binh, Cao Loc, Van Quan, Van Lang, Chi Lang and Lang Son city ( Lang Son province).

From 9:30 a.m., the management unit of Ban Lai reservoir (Loc Binh district, Lang Son province) announced flood discharge to ensure safety for the project.

This flood discharge caused the water level in the downstream area of Ky Cung River in localities such as Lang Son City, Van Quan District, Van Lang District, etc. to rise by about 2 meters.

Many localities downstream of Ban Lai and Ban Nhung lakes on the Ky Cung river (Lang Son) are submerged in water.

At around 11am, in Na Sam town (Van Lang district, Lang Son), water levels in rivers and streams continued to rise, causing flooding in many places.

The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of Van Lang district has directed functional forces to support people in evacuating their assets and people to safety.

It is forecasted that the water in this area will continue to rise due to the release of floodwaters from many dams on the Ky Cung River upstream.

In Chi Lang district (Lang Son), this morning the Thuong River rose rapidly, causing many places in Dong Mo town to be submerged in water.

In Van Quan district, the Traffic Safety Committee of Lang Son province said that as of 11:00 a.m. on September 8, many sections of National Highway 1B connecting Lang Son and Thai Nguyen in Van Quan district (Lang Son) had landslides and deep flooding, cutting off traffic and making it impossible for vehicles to move.

National Highway 279 in Van Quan district is in a similar situation.

According to statistics, by 1 p.m. on September 8, in Lang Son, 1 person had died and 9 others were injured due to the impact of Typhoon Yagi. The deceased victim was Mr. LVL (49 years old, residing in Chi Lang district).

Regarding housing, more than 1,256 households suffered damage (of which 950 houses had their roofs blown off; 90 houses had fallen trees and landslides; 223 houses were flooded...).

In addition, there was damage to other structures such as the commune police headquarters, village cultural house, school and commune post office...

Regarding agriculture, over 2,201 hectares were affected (including 706 hectares of rice; 674 hectares of crops; 847 hectares of industrial crops, over 1,000 broken persimmon trees...).

Regarding traffic, over 113 points were flooded and isolated.
