On the afternoon of July 27, the Department of Irrigation and Natural Disaster Prevention of Quang Tri province said that heavy rain caused flooding and localized isolation at spillways and culverts in communes in the southwestern mountainous area of this locality.

At Chan Ro spillway bridge, Dakrong commune, the flood was about 0.2m; Ba Long spillway bridge and Ta Lang spillway bridge, Ba Long commune, the flood was about 0.3m.

Floodwaters have receded at flooded and isolated bridge and culvert locations and traffic has basically returned to normal.

Meanwhile, at the overflow bridge area from Tan Trung village to Ban Con, Tan Lap commune, heavy rainwater caused severe flooding. Tan Lap commune People's Committee directed forces to block people and vehicles from passing through the overflow bridge.

However, at 5:00 p.m. on July 26, taking advantage of the time when the checkpoint force was taking a break for dinner, four young men on motorbikes arbitrarily removed the barrier and tried to cross the spillway, and were swept away by the flood, both the motorbike and four people.

Heavy rain caused a landslide of the negative slope downstream of the Cheng village spillway, Tan Lap commune, about 20m. The Ta Xia village spillway, Tan Lap commune, downstream area, was swept away by floodwaters, a concrete road and a negative slope about 15m long.

The section of the bridge that flows through Van Ri village, Khe Sanh commune, has been eroded by strong currents to a depth of nearly one meter and is at risk of collapsing, causing traffic disruption...
