Phuong My Chi's first movie role created a lot of curiosity for the audience because of her diverse and natural expressions in the first revealed segments.
Along with seriously invested music projects, singer Phuong My Chi also entered the film industry with the movie Ancestral home . Vocal The Stork Universe plays the main role of My Tien in the film.
My Tien is a young, dynamic girl who has just returned to her hometown from the city. Because she works as a content creator on social media platforms, My Tien used her family's ancestral house to film a clip with the hope of attracting more people's attention. She affirmed to her close friend Phat Phi (played by Chi Tam) that she has lived in the house since she was little, so there is no such thing as ghosts. However, the girl does not believe in spiritual things and suddenly sees her deceased brother.
Unlike horror films that use gruesome images to attract the audience's attention, the initial image of Ancestral home are neat, beautiful frames and humorous details. Huynh Lap has shown his creativity when combining traditional and modern elements, updating the trend of young people, especially Gen Z, in using color filters to express the character's personality as well as highlight the director's humor and wit.
As a true Gen Z with fresh energy, In the film "The Ancestors" , Phuong My Chi brings out her strengths when taking on the role of My Tien, a character the same age as her in real life, facing problems that her generation is experiencing such as disconnection with adults in the family, and differences in perspectives on work and life.
Ancestral home is a film in which Huynh Lap devoted a lot of effort to build a multi-perspective story revolving around many different generations in the family. According to the producer, in addition to more than 20 famous actors, there are also more than 468 extras participating in the film, serving the grand scenes.
The film promises to mark Huynh Lap's change in his role as director, actor and screenwriter.
