Reviewing some contents presented at the 2nd session of the 8th Provincial People's Council

On the afternoon of July 30, the Economic - Budget Committee (KT-NS) of the People's Council of Quang Tri province had a working session with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to review a number of contents submitted to the 2nd session of the 8th term Provincial People's Council. Representatives of leaders of relevant departments and branches; members of the KT-NS Committee and the Office of the National Assembly Delegation and Provincial People's Council attended.

At the meeting, representatives of the Department of Agriculture and Environment briefly reported on some contents on approving the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to other purposes in Quang Tri province; the process of building a draft Resolution regulating the level of support for agricultural production to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters and plant pests in Quang Tri province.

Accordingly, regarding the content of approving the policy of changing the purpose of forest use to another purpose, the total number of projects requesting approval of the policy of changing the purpose of forest use is currently 3 projects. The total area of forest proposed for decision on the policy of changing the purpose of forest use is more than 20.2 hectares, of which more than 0.8 hectares are production forests, and 19.3 hectares of forests outside the forestry planning are of production origin.

Regarding the draft Resolution regulating the level of support for agricultural production to restore production in areas damaged by natural disasters and plant pests in Quang Tri province. According to the report, since October 2024, many natural disasters have occurred in the province, causing heavy damage to people. However, because the resolution has not been issued, support for people has not been implemented.

Therefore, the issuance of the resolution aims to specify the level of support for crops, livestock, forestry, aquaculture and salt production damaged by natural disasters and plant pests, in accordance with production practices, and promptly help people restore production soon...

At the meeting, delegates discussed and clarified some contents to complete the reports and draft resolutions to be submitted at the 2nd session of the 8th Provincial People's Council.

Concluding the working session, Head of the Provincial People's Council's Economic and Financial Committee Nguyen Dang Anh requested the Department of Agriculture and Environment to urgently complete, supplement and adjust some contents in the submissions and draft resolutions so that the Economic and Financial Committee can propose to the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee for consideration.
