On January 11, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs , at the invitation of Founder and Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Klaus Schwab, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and Romanian Prime Minister Ion-Marcel Ciolacu, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his wife, along with a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, will attend the 54th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland), and pay an official visit to Hungary and Romania from January 16 to 23.

The 2024 World Economic Forum (WEF 2024) will officially take place from January 15-19, in the famous Swiss resort town of Davos. This year, the WEF will focus on repairing trust in an era of rapid change and a world of increasing fragmentation.
The 54th WEF Davos Annual Meeting is expected to bring together many of the world's leading names to dialogue and discuss cooperation, aiming to solve many urgent global issues, including economic growth, climate and nature action, energy security, technology governance and human development. According to the announcement, the WEF Davos 2024 Meeting has received confirmation of attendance from about 3,000 delegates, including 70 national leaders, 250 ministers, 2,500 leaders of corporations, international organizations and many prestigious experts and scholars.
Hungary and Vietnam established diplomatic relations on February 3, 1950. The two countries have a traditional friendship with a history of more than 72 years. In particular, the relationship between the two countries has developed positively in recent times since the two sides upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Partnership during General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's visit to Hungary in 2018. Two-way trade turnover in 2022 reached 1.2 billion USD, nearly double that of 2018 - the first year the two countries upgraded their relationship to Comprehensive Partnership.
The two sides also agreed to promote bilateral trade cooperation through continuing to fully and effectively implement the European Union (EU) - Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA); improve the efficiency of the Joint Committee on Economic Cooperation mechanism; and create favorable conditions for each other's goods to enter each other's market.

Of which, two-way trade turnover in 2022 reached 425 million USD, an increase of 14.8% compared to 2021.
The Vietnamese community in Romania currently has about 700,000 people and about 4,000 Vietnamese workers are also working here.
