Mr. Tang Chi Thuong, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, has just sent a document to directors of public hospitals regarding a number of key issues in hospital management.
Accordingly, the Director of the Department of Health requested public hospitals to urgently implement Circular 13 (price framework and pricing method for medical examination upon request) and Circular 14 (regulations and procedures for developing prices for procurement packages of goods, etc.).
To avoid drug shortages, hospitals need to proactively plan to select contractors at least 3 months before the current bidding package expires; at the same time, they must have a plan to reserve drugs to ensure uninterrupted supply for medical examination and treatment; and select contractors as soon as the Department of Health approves the contractor selection plan.

The Director of the Department of Health also requested hospitals to proactively review and strengthen the examination process, issue health certificates in general, driver health examinations in particular, and certificates of leave to receive social insurance for employees.
At the same time, there must be a plan to reserve drugs to ensure that the supply for medical examination and treatment is not interrupted.
