Bus route number 150 changes starting and ending points, passengers confused
On the morning of August 1, bus route 150 (Cho Lon - Tan Van - Ho Chi Minh City Bus Station) stopped picking up and dropping off passengers at Vung Tau Intersection Bus Station (Tran Bien Ward, Dong Nai Province). Although bus routes 60-1, 60-3 and 60-7 have been adjusted to replace the transit connection, many people still have difficulty accessing the vehicle and traveling to Ho Chi Minh City this morning.
At 6am at the Vung Tau Intersection Bus Station, dozens of people were present very early to wait for the bus to Ho Chi Minh City. However, many people did not know that route 150 had stopped running here, leading to a long wait, causing anxiety and frustration.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tung (Trang Dai ward, Dong Nai) said, I was introduced by an acquaintance to take route 150 to Ho Chi Minh City, but when I arrived at the station, I found out that the bus had stopped operating here. I waited for more than 20 minutes but still could not catch a bus, while my job requires me to be very punctual...
Similarly, Ms. Le Thi Hong Thao, a parking attendant at the station, said that previously, about 2,000 passengers used route 150 every day, with a frequency of 5-10 minutes/trip. The sudden suspension of this route has caused people to spend a lot of time waiting, affecting their ability to go to work, school, and medical treatment.
From around 6:20 a.m., the replacement buses 60-1, 60-3 and 60-7 began arriving at the station. However, due to the small size of the vehicles and the large number of passengers, many people could not get on the bus and were forced to return to the waiting area to wait for the next trip. Many passengers were upset, so the bus station security force had to increase guidance, explanation and ensure security and order in the bus station area.
Why stop the line?
On the afternoon of August 1, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center Pham Ngoc Dung discussed with SGGP Newspaper about adjusting the route of bus route 150 (Cho Lon - Tan Van bus station) and solutions to support people traveling after changing the starting and ending points of the route.
According to Mr. Pham Ngoc Dung, previously, bus route No. 150 had its end point at 1/8 of Ngai Thang Quarter, Binh Thang Ward (Tan Van Intersection area, Dong Nai Province). However, due to the construction of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 seriously affecting the infrastructure and traffic organization in this area, the end location of the route had to be adjusted.
To ensure stable and long-term operation, the center has moved its terminal to the new Eastern Bus Station (located in Ho Chi Minh City). This not only helps ensure legality and facilitates management, but also increases the ability to connect with other bus routes, inter-provincial buses, as well as the future Metro Line 1 station.
To ensure the travel needs of passengers in the Vung Tau Intersection area, Vung Tau Intersection Bus Station and Tan Van Intersection, the center has coordinated with the Department of Construction of Ho Chi Minh City and the Department of Construction of Dong Nai province to adjust the routes of bus routes 60-1, 60-3 and 60-7.
These routes are designed to connect with Vung Tau Crossroads Bus Station, serving as a transit point for passengers to the new Eastern Bus Station, from where they continue on bus route number 150.

In particular, route 60-7 operated by Phuong Trang Company has been adjusted to better serve the actual needs of passengers. Accordingly, this unit increases the number of trips/day, reduces the time of separation; extends the operating time to 20:30 every day. In particular, free transfer is provided for passengers traveling from Vung Tau Intersection, Vung Tau Intersection Bus Station and Tan Van Intersection to the new Mien Dong Bus Station to continue using bus route 150. The free period is from now until August 31, 2025.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center, the adjustment of bus route No. 150 is based on public transport planning research projects, aiming to optimize the starting and ending points of the route, effectively connecting with other routes, ensuring connectivity with key traffic hubs, especially metro line No. 1 in the future.
Passengers can look up route information, routes, and operating times on the BusMap app or at the nearest bus stops. The free transfer in August is a temporary solution, demonstrating the efforts of the city and businesses to accompany people to overcome inconveniences during the traffic adjustment period.
