Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport offers dual master's degree in ports and logistics

Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport officially launched the first dual master's program in the field of ports and logistics.

Today (December 2), Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport launched a dual master's program in port and logistics in cooperation with Tongmyong University (Korea).

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tien Thuy, Chairman of the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, said that this is the first dual master's program in Vietnam in the field of ports and logistics.

According to the school, the program will be taught by lecturers from both universities. Upon completion of the program, students will receive two master's degrees: a master's degree in maritime science awarded by Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport and a master's degree in ports and logistics awarded by Tongmyong University (Korea).

The program is for students who have graduated or are studying master's programs at the school, university graduates in relevant majors/specializations. Students will be considered for recognition of appropriate credits when registering for the dual degree program. Students also need to have English proficiency at level 4/6 of the Common European Framework of Reference or equivalent.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport is under the Ministry of Transport , a university that trains human resources for the transport sector such as maritime, aviation, road, river, railway and many other sectors in the transport sector. The current training scale of the school is over 21,000 students, trainees for all levels and forms of training.

For master's level, the school trains 12 majors with degrees awarded by the school including: computer science, mechanical engineering, marine engineering, automotive engineering, electrical engineering, control and automation engineering, construction engineering, hydraulic engineering, traffic engineering, construction management, transportation organization and management, and maritime science.

At the university level, Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport is currently implementing a joint training program in many majors. Specifically, it includes port management and logistics (joint training with Tongmyong University, Korea); logistics and supply chain management (joint training with Korea National Maritime and Ocean University); information technology (joint training with Tongmyong University, Korea); information technology (joint training with Australian Catholic University, Australia).
