In a warm and friendly atmosphere, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to relations and promotes multi-faceted cooperation with Chile, one of the countries that took the lead in uniting and supporting Vietnam in the struggle to liberate the South and reunify the country, and established diplomatic relations with Vietnam in 1971.

The Prime Minister respectfully conveyed the greetings of General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man to President Gabriel Boric Font.

For his part, President Gabriel Boric Font affirmed that Vietnam has always been a close friend and a leading important partner of Chile in the Southeast Asian region, with a traditional friendship founded by President Ho Chi Minh and the late Chilean President Salvador Allende, nurtured over many generations.

The two sides highly appreciated the official visit to Chile by President Luong Cuong (November 2024), contributing to deepening the Vietnam-Chile Comprehensive Partnership.

The two leaders agreed to direct relevant ministries and sectors of the two countries to continue to promote the concretization of the results achieved during President Luong Cuong's visit, with special attention paid to promoting trade and investment cooperation commensurate with the potential and needs of both sides, taking advantage of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), and increasing access to each other's markets.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that Chile create favorable conditions and have special policies for Vietnamese enterprises to cooperate and invest effectively in Chile, contributing to the socio-economic development in Chile.

Sharing the proposals of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font hopes that the two countries will also strengthen cooperation in culture, arts, tourism and people-to-people exchange.
