Build a plan to restore the Nguyen Dynasty Throne before June 20

VHO - The People's Committee of Hue City has just issued a document requesting the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to develop a plan to restore the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty Throne, according to the recommendations of the Evaluation Council and propose a restoration plan.

The Chairman of the Hue City People's Committee assigned the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to urgently develop a plan to restore the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty Throne, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Cultural Heritage and the guidance of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and report to the City People's Committee before June 20, 2025. The Hue City People's Committee will also report to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on this plan.

During the planning process, Hue city leaders requested the Hue Monuments Conservation Center to pay attention to applying modern science and technology to analyze and determine the accuracy of materials, repair time, and additional preservation over time.

In particular, priority is given to using traditional technology and techniques based on closely following data and current status and making the most of collected armrest materials, ensuring scientific and sustainable nature.

Propose that the Hue Monuments Conservation Center coordinate with the National Archives Center and organizations and individuals to research, supplement information, and digitize data on national treasures.

It is possible to consider consulting conservation experts to collect additional information and choose the best solution to restore the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty Throne.

As reported by Van Hoa newspaper, on May 24, Ho Van Phuong Tam (42 years old) while visiting the Hue Imperial City sneaked into the area displaying the national treasure Nguyen Dynasty Throne and damaged the left armrest.

According to the agreement of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the People's Committee of Hue City has established a Council to evaluate and propose a plan to restore and preserve the Nguyen Dynasty Throne. The Council has surveyed the status of the national treasure and had a meeting to propose a plan to restore the treasure.

Currently, the national treasure, the Nguyen Dynasty Throne, has been carefully preserved at the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum awaiting restoration. The Hue Monuments Conservation Center is displaying the 2023 restored version of the throne at the Thai Hoa Palace relic site for visitors.
