In 2025, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will continue to maintain 3 stable university admission methods. Area 1.1: Direct admission of excellent students according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training (students who have won national and international awards);

Area 1.2: Admission based on international certificates (SAT, ACT, A-Level, AP, IB...)

Area 1.3: Admission based on capacity profile combined with interview (students who won provincial level awards, specialized programs...).

At the end of the XTTN registration period on June 8, 2025, the system recorded a total of 5,167 candidates registered, of which category 1.1 had 435 applications, category 1.2 had 1,671 applications and category 1.3 had 3,061 applications. Accordingly, categories 1.1 and 1.2 nearly doubled compared to 2024.

According to the new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, there will be no more early admission for categories 1.2 and 1.3. However, these candidates will still have XTTN scores (similar to TSA scores or high school graduation exam scores) to apply for admission on the general virtual filtering system of the Ministry of Education and Training to be admitted to Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Some key indicators of the XTTN scores in 2025 are as follows: The highest score is 100/100 points with 12 candidates (SAT/A-Level achieved absolute score, IELTS achieved 8.0-8.5 points), the lowest score is 55.03 points, the average score is 76.48 points.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology would like to remind candidates that, according to new regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, from 2025, the allocation of admission quotas for each admission method will no longer be implemented. Instead, the standard scores (admission scores) between methods will be converted and a general admission will be conducted for each training program based on the same standard score.

Candidates with XTTN scores who want to apply for admission to Hanoi University of Science and Technology must register their admission wishes (NV) on the Virtual Filtering System of the Ministry of Education and Training at (https://thisinh.thitotnghiepthpt.edu.vn) from July 16-28, 2025, with an unlimited number of NV. This also increases the opportunity for XTTN candidates to apply for admission to more majors at Hanoi University of Science and Technology with the above XTTN scores.
