The 2025 National Press Festival takes place on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press (1925 - 2025). Speaking at the Press Conference, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission emphasized: "Journalists are also revolutionary soldiers. Pens and paper are their sharp weapons" - Uncle Ho's advice remains valid in all eras. The press not only reflects reality but is also a great spiritual resource, arousing aspirations for development, strengthening belief in the path to socialism".
The 2025 National Press Festival has a very special meaning, marking the 100-year journey of formation and development of revolutionary journalism. Activities at the Press Festival are organized on a large scale, rich and profound, fully demonstrating the identity of Vietnamese journalism from tradition to modernity.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, comrade Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association affirmed: "Over the past century, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has always played the role of a shock force on the ideological and cultural front, a loyal voice of the Party, and a trusted forum for the people."
This year's National Press Festival has 124 central and local press units participating, with nearly 130 unique press exhibition booths of newspapers and magazines, from popular to specialized, of major journalism training institutions, covering all aspects of the country's economic - political - cultural - social - defense - security - foreign affairs life. The editorial offices bring multi-platform press products applying AI, virtual reality, 3D modeling, holofan... The highlight of the event is the central space displaying the theme "100 years of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press: Achievements and development trends in the new era" - where the history of revolutionary press through memorable milestones is recreated for the first time. The exhibition booth was implemented by the Vietnam Press Museum, contributing to emphasizing the depth of tradition and progressive thinking of the country's press.
The 2025 National Press Festival is a significant political and professional event of our country's revolutionary press. This is not only a great festival for the press nationwide but also an opportunity for journalists to review the glorious and proud tradition; to honor the achievements, contributions and silent sacrifices of journalists throughout a century, from the first newspaper pages serving the revolution to modern multimedia press products contributing to the construction and development of the country today./.
