According to Tien Phong, on the morning of October 27, on Nguyen Van Linh, Dien Bien Phu, Vo Van Kiet, Ton Duc Thang streets... (Da Nang), many trees were knocked down, uprooted and lying scattered on the streets.

Ms. Pham Nga (residing in Ngu Hanh Son district) said: “Strong winds have caused many trees in Da Nang to fall and lie scattered on the roads. People should limit going out to avoid unnecessary accidents.”

The strong winds are also causing difficulties for vehicles on the road, many motorcyclists are staggering, having to bend down, hold their helmets tightly and move slowly.

Many large trees fell and lay scattered on the streets in Da Nang.

Many cars parked on the street were crushed by fallen trees.

Previously, localities in Da Nang city urgently completed pruning and bracing trees, implementing necessary measures to minimize the risk of damage to the urban tree system and danger to people during storm season.

Authorities quickly arrived to handle the fallen trees and regulate traffic.

Before the storm made landfall, the People's Committee of Da Nang City directed the Chairmen of districts and related units to quickly evacuate people from motels, temporary houses, non-permanent houses and areas at risk of landslides and flash floods to safe places.

According to Tien Phong, in Lien Chieu district, early on the morning of October 27, ward officials were urgently present in many places to support people in areas at risk of flooding and unstable housing to safe shelters.

Ms. Ngo Xuan Binh (residing in Hoa Minh ward, Lien Chieu district) has moved to Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary School to avoid the storm. “My family has prepared our belongings so that we can leave as soon as the announcement is made. We feel very secure when we are moved to a solid place to avoid the storm,” Ms. Binh said.

Authorities went to each house and each boarding house to mobilize people to evacuate to safety.

Most of the families who were evacuated were living in makeshift houses that were not safe when the storm hit. People signed a commitment to evacuate before 10am on October 27.

Mr. Mai Van Thoi, an official of Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District, said that since the evening of October 26, the ward's functional forces have gone to each house to mobilize and evacuate people to ensure safety. "We have prepared enough food such as instant noodles, cakes, and drinks in the classrooms of Nguyen Binh Khiem Secondary School so that people can safely avoid the storm. Currently, the mobilization work is still continuing to call on people to safely avoid the storm," Mr. Thoi shared.
