Real Madrid were eliminated by Atletico in the round of 16, Barcelona seemed to have a great chance to win this year's King's Cup when they met Bilbao in the quarterfinals. However, the developments on the field were completely different from the calculations of coach Xavi Hernandez.

Bilbao beat Barcelona 4-2 on aggregate to advance to the semi-finals of this year's Copa del Rey. Barcelona will continue to fail in another arena in the 2023-24 season after becoming the former champion of the Spanish Super Cup.
