Representatives of Khanh Hoa General Hospital and local authorities handed over the baby to the adoptive family. |
Previously, on May 21, the baby was brought to the Emergency Department in a premature condition, weighing only 1.1 kg. The accompanying relatives said that the baby was born at home at 28 weeks of pregnancy. After being admitted to the hospital, the baby received emergency first aid, and through examination, the baby was diagnosed with sepsis on the hyaline membrane - a dangerous disease in extremely premature newborns. The baby was transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Pediatrics Department for intensive treatment. After a few days, the family left the baby at the hospital. After many attempts to contact the family but failed, Khanh Hoa General Hospital reported to the local authorities. After nearly 3 months of being actively and devotedly cared for by the hospital's medical team, the baby's health was stable, weighing 3.3 kg. On August 4, the baby was adopted by an infertile couple. According to Master Doan Thi Thuy Loan - Head of the hospital's Social Work Department, before that, when the baby was healthy and eligible for discharge, the hospital had carried out administrative procedures to hand over to the government, but this process was interrupted for a long time due to the merger of the two local levels. Therefore, the baby continued to be cared for at the Pediatrics Department. In order to have milk, diapers, clothes and other necessary items for the baby, the hospital's doctors and nurses called for and received active support from the goodwill of many people.
