Accelerating internal strength: from owning aircraft to mastering operations

The new Airbus A320 with registration number VN – A136 with 182 seats will be put into operation in August, after completing technical maintenance. Previously, at the end of June 2025, Vietravel Airlines received the first owned Airbus A321, opening a new chapter in the strategy of “from leasing to ownership”, after having the support of strategic shareholder T&T Group.

The Airbus A321/A320 is a narrow-body aircraft that is widely used in the Asia- Pacific region, with high performance, fuel economy, suitable for both domestic routes and short and medium-haul international routes. Choosing this aircraft helps the airline easily access the existing maintenance facilities, facilitate the supply of spare parts, and effectively exploit the abundant resources of pilots and technical engineers in the region.

Continuing to add owned aircraft to the fleet that the airline is operating is a strategic step, clearly demonstrating the maturity and determination of Vietravel Airlines to break through in the context of the aviation industry being fiercely competitive and requiring large investment resources.

With its own fleet gradually being completed, the airline aims to improve operational efficiency, standardize services and build a solid foundation to expand its flight network, gradually realizing its vision of becoming the leading green, professional, modern and sustainable airline in the region.

According to Vietravel Airlines Chairman of the Board of Directors Do Quang Vinh, the development of its own fleet not only helps Vietravel Airlines master its operations and services, but also demonstrates its strong commitment to the airline's long-term orientation, always accompanying customers and the market. This is also how Vietravel Airlines affirms its position as a brave private airline, capable of standing firm and reaching far in the region; at the same time, bringing customers complete flight experiences: from amenities, services to emotions.

“We clearly understand that developing our fleet is not just an operational issue, but also a way to affirm our internal capacity, long-term commitment and ability to control service quality. This is the foundation for a sustainable development strategy, competitive enough at the regional level,” said Mr. Do Quang Vinh.

Connecting the T&T ecosystem and Vietravel Airlines' strategy to master the operation chain

Vietravel Airlines is currently completing procedures to receive its third aircraft. At the same time, the airline is actively promoting negotiations with aircraft manufacturers and international airlines to realize its plan to expand its fleet and flight network. The goal is to have a fleet size of 30-50 aircraft by 2030, with a flight network covering Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and the Middle East.

Previously, to realize growth targets, Vietravel Airlines approved a plan to increase its charter capital to VND2,600 billion. This financial resource is to meet the need to strongly expand the airline's fleet and scale of operations in the coming time; at the same time, it will be invested synchronously in modern exploitation technology systems, maintenance technical facilities and especially in training high-quality human resources - a key factor in the airline's sustainable development strategy.

In addition, the capital increase also aims to ensure solid solvency, maintain healthy financial indicators and continuously enhance reputation with strategic partners, suppliers as well as domestic and foreign credit institutions.

Not stopping at passenger transport, Vietravel Airlines is also planning to expand into air cargo. This is a field with great potential, especially in the context of the strong growth of the regional supply chain and logistics after the pandemic. In addition, T&T Group and Vietravel Airlines are planning to participate in developing aviation ancillary services such as ground services, warehousing, loading and unloading, technical services and aviation industry... to increase competitiveness and contribute to perfecting the aviation ecosystem according to the group model that T&T Group is developing.

Notably, the development of Vietravel Airlines' fleet is part of a larger picture: the strategy for developing the aviation - logistics - infrastructure ecosystem that T&T Group is implementing. As a strategic shareholder, T&T Group not only provides financial support, but also orients Vietravel Airlines to become an important link in its ecosystem, including: airports, aviation - logistics - urban airport industrial complexes and transport infrastructure systems, logistics... This not only helps the airline gradually master the operational chain, from exploitation, ground services to engineering, maintenance and repair of aircraft, but also opens up long-term competitive advantages.
