Opening of VME and SIE 2025
VME is organized annually by RX Tradex - the leading trade exhibition in Vietnam in the field of machinery, equipment and manufacturing technology. First held in 2008, VME has continuously expanded its scale and improved its quality, becoming a familiar destination for engineers, experts, managers and equipment suppliers at home and abroad. The exhibition is a place to update new technology, and is also a strategic transit point for thousands of application solutions in smart factories, automation, AI, measurement and production control.
SIE is organized by the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) in coordination with the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), within the framework of the Vietnam - Japan Joint Initiative and the Vietnam - Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (VJEPA), with the goal of developing the supporting industry and improving the investment environment in Vietnam. Over the past 20 years, SIE has become a trade promotion forum to help Vietnamese enterprises gradually become tier 1 and tier 2 suppliers for large Japanese corporations.
Speaking at the opening of the exhibition, Mr. Vu Ba Phu - Director of the Trade Promotion Agency ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) said that over the past three decades, the Vietnam - Japan cooperation relationship has been continuously expanded and deepened in many fields, in which supporting industry is one of the bright spots. Japanese enterprises not only invest heavily in Vietnam but also actively transfer technology, management standards and connect supply chains with Vietnamese enterprises. This is a favorable condition for Vietnam to gradually improve domestic production capacity, increase the localization rate and participate more deeply in the global production network.
Mr. Vu Ba Phu - Director of the Department of Trade Promotion spoke at the Exhibition's Opening Ceremony
“Today’s exhibition is a vivid demonstration of that sustainable cooperation. This is not only a place to display advanced products and technologies, but also an effective bridge between Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises; a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to understand market demand, improve management capacity, expand business cooperation and gradually become suppliers in the value chain of global corporations,” Mr. Vu Ba Phu emphasized.
Ms. Varaporn Dhamcharee, General Director, RX Tradex Thailand and Vietnam - the exhibition organizer shared: In the context of many fluctuations in the world economy, Vietnam continues to emerge as an attractive destination for foreign investment capital. According to data from the General Statistics Office, in the first 6 months of 2025, FDI capital implemented in Vietnam is estimated at 11.72 billion USD, an increase of 8.1% over the same period and the highest level in the past 5 years. In particular, the processing and manufacturing industry accounts for 81.6% of the total capital with 9.56 billion USD, showing the strong development potential of this sector and opening up opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to proactively improve their capacity, participate deeply in the global supply chain, as well as access advanced technology trends.
“This year’s exhibition is organized with the aim of promoting technology transfer, expanding the supply network and supporting supporting industry - manufacturing enterprises to accelerate modernization. The event is expected to attract more than 10,000 specialized visitors from more than 30 countries, operating in key industrial fields such as electricity-electronics, automobiles, precision mechanics, construction, plastics and chemicals,” said Varaporn Dhamcharee.
Mr. Haruhiko Ozasa, Chief Representative, JETRO Hanoi also emphasized: Strengthening the connection between Japanese and Vietnamese enterprises does not stop at technology transfer or human resource training but is a common strategy to improve the sustainability of the regional value chain. VME & SIE 2025 Exhibition is an event that converges technological innovation, cooperation connection and development vision for Vietnam's industry in the new era.
At VME & SIE 2025, in addition to the international exhibition scale being expanded in both the number of brands and the depth of expertise, the exhibition is also designed as a comprehensive platform, integrating a series of specialized activities to bring high practical value to the business community. From experiencing the latest technology, connecting with strategic partners, to participating in multilateral trade promotion activities, all activities aim to support businesses to improve their competitiveness, expand their markets and deeply integrate into the global value chain.
The exhibition series runs until August 8, 2025.
