Binh Phuoc: Pepper growers who died got a loan interest reduction of more than 14 billion VND

Việt NamViệt Nam09/02/2025

BPO - Once a crop that brought wealth to many farmers, pepper in Binh Phuoc province has been frequently affected by diseases in recent years, causing many pepper areas to die. To help pepper growers have the conditions to plant new plants and restore pepper gardens, Binh Phuoc has so far provided loans with a total outstanding balance of more than 1,412 billion VND.

Thanks to loan support policies, many pepper gardens in Binh Phuoc have been replanted.

Of the total outstanding debt of more than VND1,412 billion, more than 6,400 deceased pepper growers have received loans. Through this source of capital, many households have built and replanted pepper trees or converted to other agricultural models.

In addition to facilitating loans, in 2024, banks in the province restructured the principal and interest repayment period for 830 pepper farmers; reduced interest for 6,394 customers, with an interest reduction of VND 14.34 billion.

High pepper crop prices in 2024 will help pepper growers earn high income

According to the 2024 crop market, pepper prices have begun to increase again, sometimes reaching 150,000 VND/kg, helping farmers to persevere with pepper plants and earn a fairly high income. This achievement, in addition to the application of scientific and technical advances by pepper growers in care and disease management, is also due to the effective support from State policies, in which creating loans when pepper growers encounter difficulties is a form.
