The establishment of the new Commune-level Military Command is the result of the process of research, review, and rearrangement of the armed forces organization to ensure it is suitable to local realities and in line with the direction of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense .
The Commune Military Command will officially come into operation from July 1, 2025, under the leadership and direction of the Party Committee, People's Committee at the same level and the command and professional guidance of the Regional Defense Command.

Advise local authorities to build a national defense foundation, a people's war posture, and build a solid defense area. Quickly build a system of documents and combat readiness plans according to regulations. Seriously maintain forces on duty ready for combat, search and rescue. Actively coordinate with local forces to grasp the situation, maintain political security, social order and safety.
He also requested that leaders of communes and wards pay attention to leadership and direction so that the Commune Military Command can perform well military and defense tasks.
