The specific objectives of the plan include maintaining a forest cover rate of 42% to 43% nationwide, improving the quality of natural forests, and achieving a growth rate of forestry production value of 5% to 5.5% per year. The plan also aims to increase income from production forests by 1.5 times by 2025 and double by 2030 compared to 2020; the export value of wooden furniture and forest products is expected to reach 20 billion USD by 2025 and 25 billion USD by 2030.

According to Mr. Tran Quang Bao, the planning also identifies the target of forest environmental service revenue increasing by an average of 5% per year, reaching about 4,000 billion VND/year in the period 2026-2030. Key solutions include transferring high technology in forestry production, developing sustainable forest management plans, and supporting livelihood development for communities in buffer zones of special-use forests.

The total capital to implement the planning until 2030 is estimated at about 217,305 billion VND, including money from the state budget and other legal capital sources.
