At the regular October press conference of the Ministry of Information and Communications , Mr. Le Quang Tu Do said that the Department has not yet received official information from the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City about the proposal to put Facebooker Vo Quoc's case on the Blacklist. The Department will discuss with the Department of Information and Communications to get more specific information.

Mr. Le Quang Tu Do added that there is currently an issue that needs to be verified and clarified. Chef Vo Quoc reported that the Vo Quoc account is managed by him, however, he is not the one who directly wrote the violations. Therefore, the authorities are reviewing and clarifying the issue.

Mr. Le Quang Tu Do, Director of the Department of Radio, Television and Electronic Information, spoke at the press conference.

If Mr. Vo Quoc's reflection is correct, the authorities will inform the press. If the reflection is incorrect, based on the recommendation of the Department of Information and Communications of Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Information and Communications will notify the violating brands and agents to limit cooperation for a certain period of time.

Mr. Le Quang Tu Do also added that Blacklist and Whitelist are initiatives of the Ministry of Information and Communications to be deployed in early 2023, in coordination with businesses, advertising agencies and major domestic brands.

This initiative has two main contents: one is that brands and advertising agencies prioritize advertising on pages and channels registered with the Ministry of Information and Communications, authenticated and licensed by the Ministry. Two is not to advertise or cooperate with pages, channels, or entities that violate the law. Depending on the level, there will be a specific period of non-cooperation.

Mr. Le Quang Tu Do shared that when the Ministry of Information and Communications worked with brands and advertising agencies, it received great support. This both cleans up cyberspace and protects brand safety because when advertising on channels and pages that violate the law, businesses themselves will also be subject to administrative sanctions and their brands will be affected.
