With her performance at the AVC Challenge Cup 2023, Thanh Thuy was honored by the Asian Volleyball Federation.
Vietnam's number one hitter was voted the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP). In addition, she also received another title as the tournament's Best Main Attacker, along with Wu Fang Yu (Taiwan, China).
In other awards, Doan Thi Lam Oanh was awarded the Best Setter award. Dinh Thi Tra Giang received the Best Middle Blocker award along with Siti Nurfadhilah (Indonesia).
In addition to individual titles, right after the final match, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team received a bonus of 400 million VND from the Vietnam Volleyball Federation and sponsors.
With the AVC Challenger Cup championship, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team will participate in the FIVB Volleyball Challenger Cup 2023, a playground where if they win, Thanh Thuy and her teammates will have the right to participate in the Volleyball Nations League - the world's leading volleyball tournament.
The 2023 FIVB Challenger Cup will take place in France from July 27-30. Currently, there are 5 countries participating in this tournament including host France, Colombia, Kenya, Mexico and the only Asian representative, Vietnam.
Previously, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team (named Sport Center I) won the Asian Club Championship. This result helped Vietnam earn a place in the World Club Championship taking place in December in China.
Due to being very busy with international tournaments in the coming time, the Vietnam Volleyball Federation decided to change the schedule and venue of the 2023 national championship to create favorable conditions for coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his team.
