Gen Z singer Phuong My Chi has lit up national pride.

The works produced by Phuong My Chi and the DTAP production team all demonstrate a subtle combination of national culture and modern musical thinking. If in “Buon Trang”, Phuong My Chi surprised everyone by reciting famous verses from the poem “Day Thon Vi Da” (Han Mac Tu) and performing Vovinam on stage, then with “Rock Hat Gao”, she made the audience burst into tears with a unique combination of electronic music and the folk songs of the Southwest.

The 22-year-old singer made a strong impression when she combined ca tru with rap and electronic music in “The Universe Has You”. Her emotional performance in “Bong Phu Hoa” – a song inspired by the literary work “Chuyen Nguoi Con Gai Nam Xuong” created a “fever” on social media platforms…

Along with investing in melody, lyrics, and choreography, Phuong My Chi also carefully designs costumes and props, with designs imbued with Vietnamese culture such as ao tu than, non quai thao, stork and lotus motifs, etc.

It is the unique, simple, profound and imbued with national spirit that has created a unique highlight for Phuong My Chi on the international stage, making even experts admire.

This is not only an individual's success, but also a testament to maturity, creativity, and readiness to step out into the world and shine with national culture. Along with Phuong My Chi, contributing to shaping the flow of modern music originating from traditional culture, there are many other typical faces such as Hoang Thuy Linh with "De Mi noi cho ma nghe", "Duyen am", "Keo ca keo ket", "Em day chua phai Thuy Kieu", "Gieo que", "See tinh"...; or Hoa Minzy with "Thi Mau", "Bac Bling" - two hits that helped the Kinh Bac singer's name stand out and spread widely...

These songs dominate the music charts, showing the change in the music tastes of young audiences and proving the appeal of musical works exploiting national cultural materials. Heritage not only helps to understand the origin, but also creates many great development opportunities if it promotes community connection, linking the past, present and future. When heritage is combined with modern thinking and appropriate delivery, it will form products that are both competitive and capable of leading the market.

When Vietnamese culture can overcome geographical and linguistic barriers and reach international friends, the national brand will be more strongly recognized on the world map, thereby fueling love and pride for traditional identity in the hearts of Vietnamese people.

According to many experts, this "formula" is not only true for music, but can also be applied to many other fields such as cinema, fashion , consumption, cuisine, etc., especially in the context of deep international integration, when culture increasingly affirms its role as the "key" to identifying the distinct identity of each country.

However, going the long way with creative products inspired by traditional culture is not simple, because just stopping at "understanding" is not enough, but you have to become an inheritor and creator, turning past values into strength for the present.

The performer must know how to "tell" and convey cultural stories with innovative thinking and modern language, along with a spirit of dedication and responsibility to preserve and promote Vietnamese culture to the world, be both proficient in technology and have a fresh, creative perspective.

When Vietnamese culture can overcome geographical and linguistic barriers and reach international friends, the national brand will be more strongly recognized on the world map, thereby fueling love and pride for traditional identity in the hearts of Vietnamese people.

In order to promote international cultural integration, the Politburo assigned the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to develop a project to internationalize Vietnamese culture and Vietnamize international culture. The project aims to turn culture into an endogenous force for rapid and sustainable national development; enhance Vietnam's position in the international arena; create cultural products and brands with quality and global competitiveness, access international markets, export cultural goods and services abroad, etc.

Hopefully, the operation of the Project together with open solutions and policies will form an ecosystem that promotes creativity, creating conditions for the birth of a generation of artists with cultural products that are capable of integrating but not dissolving, modern but still connected to national roots...
