On March 17, news from the Office of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, the Chairman of the People's Committee of this province has just issued Decision No. 447/QD-UBND on the regulation of the number of medical staff in hamlets and residential areas. According to the decision, each hamlet and residential area will have 2 medical staff, contributing to strengthening the primary health care for people at the grassroots level.
According to statistics, the whole province of Ca Mau currently has 744 hamlets and 139 residential areas, which means that there will be a total of 1,766 community health workers assigned to perform the task. This team plays an important role in promoting and guiding people to raise their awareness of health care, while also detecting early risks of epidemics and supporting the implementation of technical and professional activities under the direction of the health sector.
The deployment of medical staff in hamlets and villages will help improve the quality of primary health care, reduce pressure on higher levels and ensure people have more convenient access to health services. Decision No. 447 takes effect from March 13, 2025, replacing Decision No. 2098/QD-UBND dated October 28, 2024.
The local government expects that with the full force of medical staff at the grassroots level, the health care work for people in the province will be improved, contributing to the goal of protecting, caring for and improving community health.
