Schools that "cross the line" and send early admission letters must explain

Van Hien University has sent emails to many candidates, informing them that they have met the requirements to be admitted to the school and only need to pay 3 million VND to receive tuition support.

Hong Bang International University also sent a congratulatory message to the admitted candidates.

Previously, in mid-July, Hung Vuong University, Ho Chi Minh City, also sent an invitation letter for admission to the regular university program in 2025 to candidates, based on their wishes to register for high school transcript consideration.

Responding to the press, a representative of the Department of Higher Education - Ministry of Education and Training, said that they have grasped the above information. This unit requires the above universities to review and comply with the admission regulations, and must be responsible for explaining to the Ministry of Education and Training and society if they do not comply with the regulations.

According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, this year there will be no more early admission, all methods will be considered once when the Ministry of Education and Training organizes a general virtual selection.

At the earliest, after 5:00 p.m. on August 20, universities will be able to announce admission scores and admission opportunities for candidates.

The Ministry of Education and Training also requires training institutions not to allow candidates to confirm admission or enroll before August 22.

From now until 5:00 p.m. on August 5, candidates continue to complete the payment of registration fees on the common system of the Ministry of Education and Training.

On August 16, the Ministry of Education and Training processed admission requests on the general admission system (virtual filtering).

Within 4 days, from August 17 to August 20, the Ministry of Education and Training will upload the admission results of the schools to the system (admission results of all admission methods) and return the application processing results to the schools 6 times to give the final results.

The virtual filtering process ensures that each candidate is only admitted to one single and highest choice.

This helps to reduce the phenomenon of virtual admission, that is, the number of candidates determined to be admitted does not reflect the number of people who will actually enroll.

At around 5:00 p.m. on August 20, training institutions will enter the admission scores and admission results into the system, review and prepare to announce the first round of admission results.

From the afternoon of August 20, universities can start announcing admission scores. The first round of admission results must be announced no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 22.

After knowing the benchmark scores, before 5:00 p.m. on August 30, all admitted candidates must confirm their enrollment on the system (if they wish to study).

From September 1 to December 2025, candidates who need to apply for additional admission rounds must follow the admission information posted on the training institution's admission information page.

In case the training institution organizes separate forms of registration and admission, submitting documents and evidence directly or online at the training institution, candidates must follow the regulations of the training institution but still have to register on the system to be considered for admission together with all other candidates.

In 2025, nearly 850,000 candidates entered their wishes into the system, an increase of more than 115,000 compared to last year (due to candidates registering for admission to vocational colleges).

In total, there are about 7.6 million wishes to register for university and college admission in 2025. On average, a candidate registers nearly 9 wishes.

Thus, more than 310,000 candidates gave up the opportunity to enter university and college this year, equivalent to 26.7% of the total 1.16 million candidates.
