TPO - Due to the small area of the apartments, the residents of Thanh Cong Apartment Complex have expanded and renovated them into tiger cages. However, many tiger cages have no support and are "precariously" placed in the air, which is very dangerous.

The People's Committee of Ba Dinh District ( Hanoi ) has organized a public consultation on 5 buildings in Thanh Cong Residential Area that will be renovated into resettlement housing and 18-24 storey commercial service buildings.

It is known that Thanh Cong Residential Area consists of 67 blocks of houses built in the 1960s and 1970s. Currently, many units have sunk, tilted, and seriously degraded. Of which, house G6A is assessed as level D danger. Currently, most of the residents in house G6A have been evacuated to ensure safety.

According to the city's plan to renovate old apartment buildings in the 2021-2025 period, Thanh Cong apartment building is one of 10 old apartment buildings to be renovated in the first phase.

According to experts, there are many reasons for the deterioration of apartment buildings. Partly due to time, partly due to people arbitrarily renovating and expanding them into tiger cages...

In fact, most of the apartments in this area have been renovated and expanded by the people into tiger cages.

At the successful apartment complex, most of the apartments have been expanded and converted into tiger cages.

Because these old apartment buildings were built a long time ago, the surface of the walls are rotten and degraded. Meanwhile, they are struggling to carry overlapping iron cages, making people passing by "shudder".

Everyone knows how dangerous this is, but residents in these apartment complexes still build extensions. The main reason is that these apartments are very small, so the owners have to expand the living space for their families.

Tiger cages will be used as a place to dry clothes, a kitchen, even a toilet... even a family bedroom.

Many tiger cages extend 2-3 meters out, precariously balanced in the air, because there is no support underneath.

Each floor, the people spread out a little.

Even though people know that expanding and renovating into tiger cages is both a violation of regulations and dangerous, because the apartment area is small, they still accept it.
