At around 7:30 p.m. on December 12, the City Police Command Information Center received news of a large fire at a wooden furniture manufacturing and trading workshop in Ban Giua village, Huu Bang commune.
The fire engulfed the factory.
Realizing that the fire was likely to spread to neighboring factories, the Command Information Center urgently mobilized 1 fire fighting command vehicle and 10 fire trucks along with nearly 60 officers and soldiers from the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Team (PCCC&CNCH) - Thach That District Police, Quoc Oai District Police, Fire Fighting and Rescue Team of Area 2, Area 6 - Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department to the scene to coordinate in organizing fire fighting.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department also mobilized 2 command vehicles, trucks carrying vehicles and officers and soldiers of the working group to the scene to directly direct the fire fighting work.
The area where the fire occurred was factories and households producing and trading wooden furniture with an area of about 80m2 to 120m2, with the main combustible materials being wood, solvents, and flammable materials, which generated a lot of toxic smoke and gas, and the fire spread quickly.
10 wood workshops burned down, leaving only rubble at the scene.
The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force deployed attack teams to contain and control the fire spreading to surrounding areas; mobilized excavators to demolish collapsed structures, mobilized teams to exploit water sources, and opened a way for the Fire Prevention and Rescue Force to approach the interior to organize fire fighting and search and rescue.
At around 10:30 p.m. the same day, the fire was completely extinguished. The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police force promptly guided people in the production households to evacuate safely, saving hundreds of cubic meters of wooden furniture and industrial wood panels, and preventing the fire from spreading to 22 neighboring production and business households.
According to initial statistics, the fire affected 10 households, with a total burned area of about 480 square meters. The fire did not cause any human casualties, and the cause of the fire is being investigated by authorities.
