Recently, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism reported tourism situation in the first 6 months of 2025.
Specifically, in June, international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City reached about 732,651 arrivals, an increase of nearly 63% over the same period in 2024; domestic visitors are estimated at more than 3.2 million arrivals, an increase of 3.7% over the same period in 2024.
Total tourism revenue in June alone is estimated at nearly VND 20,000 billion, an increase of more than 20% over the same period in 2024.
In the first 6 months of 2025, international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City are estimated to reach more than 3.8 million, an increase of 44% over the same period in 2024 (reaching 45.4% of the 2025 plan); domestic visitors are estimated to reach more than 18.3 million, an increase of 7% over the same period in 2024 (reaching 40.7% of the 2025 plan).
Thus, the city's tourism industry welcomed more than 22 million visitors, with total revenue estimated at nearly VND118,000 billion in the first half of this year. This figure increased by 27.3% over the same period in 2024, reaching 45.4% of the 2025 plan.
In addition, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said the city currently has 3,146 tourist accommodation establishments, including 134 hotels rated from 1 to 5 stars. In the coming time, the city's tourism industry will promote regional connectivity, sustainable development, and focus on people and tourists.
To continue affirming the city's position as a dynamic, open and colorful destination, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry has officially launched a series of activities to stimulate demand and introduce attractive tourism products. Highlights this summer are two programs: the summer culinary tour series "Find your flavor" and the technology-applied art program "Shine Essence".
In particular, the summer culinary tour series "Find your flavor" lasts from July to August.
Tourism 1 of 10 highlights in the first 6 months of 2025
According to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, at the first Government Conference with localities after implementing the 2-level local government model, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh assessed tourism as one of the 10 highlights in the first 6 months of 2025.
Accordingly, international visitors to Vietnam recovered strongly; in June, it reached nearly 1.5 million arrivals, up 17.1%; in 6 months, it reached nearly 10.7 million arrivals, up 20.7%.
