Vietnam's IT industry index increased 5 times after 10 years

In 2013, the revenue of Vietnam's information technology (IT) industry reached nearly 34 billion USD with a total of 440,000 employees working in 13,800 enterprises. The software and IT services industry at that time contributed 2.8 billion USD in revenue, with more than 11,500 enterprises, a total of nearly 160,000 programmers; not only meeting the domestic IT application needs, but also initially placing its name on the world IT map.

After 10 years, the industry's indicators have increased 5 times. According to a representative of the Vietnam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA), the industry's total revenue will reach 148 billion USD, with 1.3 million employees in 2023.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa said he has witnessed many inspiring stories about digital transformation from domestic technology enterprises.

In addition, digital technology businesses still achieved impressive growth despite the economic turmoil. In the export service market, MOR Software and Savvycom grew 2 times, CMC Global grew 70%. The domestic market recorded large growth figures such as One Mount increased 80%, Viettel Cyber Security, FPT Smart Cloud increased 100%, ITSOL increased 90%...

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa - Chairman of VINASA, said: "Top 10 Vietnamese Digital Technology Enterprises 2023 witnessed many inspiring stories about digital transformation and the passion and thorough investment of businesses in research and development to create new, excellent technology products owned by Vietnamese people".

In addition, many businesses are investing in research and development of new technologies such as semiconductor chips, Generative AI, Blockchain. Businesses in this group are present in over 20 countries, have tens of thousands of employees, are digitally transforming businesses in the Fortune 500 list, leading corporations in the world such as Airbus, Boeing, Unilever, Hitachi... and are partners of large technology companies such as Google, Microsoft, IBM, AWS...
