The defendants include: Phung Thi Hong (born in 1990, residing in Khang Ninh commune, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province), Chu Thi Lien (born in 1994, residing in Sub-zone 2, Cho Ra town, Ba Be district, Bac Kan) and Lo Thi Phai (born in 1991, residing in Nghia Son commune, Van Chan district, Yen Bai province).

According to the indictment, around December 2022, the above defendants negotiated and received money from sex buyers in the Phja Boóc motel in Sub-zone 7, Cho Ra town, Ba Be district to carry out prostitution.
In which, the prosecution agency determined that Phung Thi Hong was the receptionist assigned to manage the guest rooms, using and arranging the motel rooms for customers to buy sex, so she was prosecuted for the crime of "Prostitution".
The defendants Chu Thi Lien and Lo Thi Phai, employees of the beverage shop in the motel, acted as intermediaries, negotiated and directly received money from sex buyers, creating conditions for sex buyers and sex sellers to engage in prostitution at the Phja Boóc motel, so they were prosecuted for the crime of "Prostitution Brokerage".
The trial panel sentenced defendant Phung Thi Hong to 5 years in prison; defendant Chu Thi Lien to 3 years in prison and defendant Lo Thi Phai to 6 months in prison; and fined each defendant an additional 10 million VND to be confiscated to the State budget.
