Gia Binh International Airport has been approved by the Ministry of Construction to adjust the Master Plan for the development of the national airport system for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, with the total port area increased to about 1,960 hectares.

Gia Thuan Land Fund Development Center Branch coordinated with the villages of Gia Binh commune to collect and synthesize preliminary data according to land records under local management. The proposed land area for the Project implementation in Gia Binh commune (excluding the radial road of the Project) is about 884.6 hectares (including 125 hectares of phase 1).
In phase 2, the total land area for the Gia Binh International Airport construction investment project in Gia Binh commune is about 759.6 hectares. Of which, 67.4 hectares of residential land (2,060 households recovered); 399.1 hectares of rice land; 126.4 hectares of other agricultural land; 143.9 hectares of traffic, irrigation, and unused land; 6.7 hectares of cemetery land; 2.9 hectares of religious and belief land; 0.3 hectares of energy land; 5.9 hectares of educational land, agency headquarters, health care, and culture; 6.8 hectares of production and business land; 0.2 hectares of other non -agricultural land.

Up to now, Gia Thuan Land Fund Development Center Branch has conducted a review in Thu Phap village with an area of about 4.3 hectares (the planning location is the land for building VIP station), established a compensation plan and was approved for the compensation and support unit price of Bac Ninh province (old) at 441,000 VND/m2 of long-term agricultural land (158,760,000 VND/sao).
On July 20, Potential Investors advanced 6.22 billion/6.79 billion VND to pay 49/56 households and individuals (7 households and individuals have not made the payment due to not being present in the locality or lacking documents showing authorization for relatives to receive on their behalf).
The locality recommends that potential investors prepare sufficient funds to pay compensation and support according to the approved plan; coordinate with the Gia Thuan Land Fund Development Center Branch to establish and organize payments in the coming time.
For the area to be recovered early to start construction in the third quarter of 2025, located in the VIP guest house area in the APEC reception area, it is recommended that provincial departments provide guidance on land handover procedures so that potential investors can promptly carry out zoning, measuring, marking and other preparatory work.

Concluding the meeting, Comrade Dao Quang Khai emphasized: Gia Binh International Airport is a national key project, which has received special attention from the Party, State, National Assembly and Government, and is of great significance in promoting socio-economic development and growth of the province in the coming period. The direction of the Central Government and the province is to mobilize the participation of the entire political system to implement the project, determined to start the Gia Binh International Airport Project on August 19.
Propose that Gia Binh commune coordinate with relevant departments and branches to urgently implement compensation and site clearance for phase 2 of the project (700ha). In the immediate future, focus on compensating the construction area, compensating 1.6ha of land to be completed before August 10. At the same time, implement resettlement projects and relocate people's cemeteries with the viewpoint of doing things correctly, democratically, objectively, the resettlement area must be worthy, modern, synchronous, with the highest benefits for the people, in accordance with the law.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested relevant departments, branches, units and localities to urgently prepare the necessary conditions to start the Project as planned; submit the plan and scenario for organizing the groundbreaking ceremony to the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee before July 31. Note that the location of the groundbreaking ceremony must ensure space, area, security, order, traffic safety and be truly worthy of a national-scale project.
