
In response to the impressive numbers above, the city organized many activities and large-scale incentive programs as a thank you to tourists and hoped to open a stimulus chain to attract other international tourist markets.
Continuously leading the international tourist market
In 2011, the first direct flight connecting Seoul (Korea) - Da Nang operated by Asiana Airlines opened a new international tourist market to Da Nang. Soon after, Korean Air joined the operation of this route, contributing to making Korea one of Da Nang's key international markets, rising to the 3rd position in 2012.
From an airline operating flights from Korea to Da Nang, up to now, there are 12 airlines participating in expanding direct flights to Da Nang such as: Air Busan, Jeju Air, T'way Air, Eastar Jet, Air Seoul, Jin Air, Aero K, Air Premia, Vietnam Airlines , Vietjet Air... creating the premise for Korea to become the international market with the densest airline network to Da Nang with a frequency of about 150 flights/week.

According to information from the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, during the tourism development period of 2015 - 2019 and the recovery period after COVID-19 (from 2023 - 2025), the number of international visitors to Da Nang increased strongly, reaching about 120 - 130%. In particular, the Korean market recorded a doubling of the number of visitors, officially leading the international visitor market to Da Nang from 2016 to present.
For the third time coming to Da Nang, Ms. Lee Jihn Yeon, a Korean tourist, chose to stay at an apartment along the Han River. She shared: “In addition to the outstanding tourist destinations and luxurious beach resorts, the living environment in Da Nang is very good, the food is delicious, the people are friendly and approachable... That's why my friends and I all want to come back here every year.”
Many good ways
To attract Korean tourists, the city's tourism industry will organize a week to honor Korean tourists in Da Nang in 2025 with many attractive activities. The highlight is the program to welcome the 1 millionth Korean visitor to Da Nang in 2025, scheduled to take place on the evening of August 1 at Bien Dong Park.
The 999,999th, 1,000,000th and 1,000,001st special visitors, along with 7 other lucky guests, will receive souvenirs, tickets to experience destinations and high-class services in the city.
Next are famtrip programs for 10 leading travel companies and 5 online travel agents (OTA) from Korea to experience unique tourism products such as beach resorts, golf tours, health care and local cuisine...

In addition, there will be a golf tournament between the Korean delegation and Da Nang tourism partners; invite influencers (KOLs), famous travel bloggers from Korea to Da Nang in August to experience, film vlogs and share images of the city's tourism on social networks.
These contents will use hashtags such as: DanangFantastiCity, NewDanang, NewExperiences to spread the new image of Danang to the Korean and international communities...
In addition, there is a stimulus program for international visitors, including the Korean market returning to Da Nang from now until the end of 2025 with the theme: "I love Da Nang - I love Da Nang" with incentives for souvenir gifts, travel sim cards, service discount vouchers; 20-30% discount on entrance tickets to Sun World Ba Na Hills tourist area and shows at Da Nang Downtown for Korean visitors with boarding passes...
Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoai An, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that in 2024, the tourism industry will have the "Enjoy Danang Again Campaign" for Korean tourists who have been to Da Nang and received attention and response from this tourist market.
This year, the Korean Tourist Appreciation Week event is considered one of the highlights of the “Da Nang - New Era” communication campaign, part of a series of events promoting the new city after the merger. Through this event, the image of Da Nang continues to be widely spread among the Korean tourist community in particular and international visitors in general.
At the same time, aiming to diversify products, improve service quality and affirm Da Nang's position as a high-class, modern and friendly tourist destination in the region. In the coming time, to attract international visitors in general, the tourism industry will continue to promote, advertise and connect more direct flights from nearby markets to create a stable and sustainable source of visitors.
