Mr. Bui Sy Tuan Anh, Director of the Transport Hospital, said that by 5:00 p.m. on May 24, 3 out of 6 victims of the Trung Kinh motel fire had been transferred to Bach Mai Hospital for further treatment.
"According to the family's wishes and to ensure the patients receive the best treatment, after discussing with the leaders of Bach Mai Hospital, this afternoon we transferred these three cases to Bach Mai Hospital for treatment," said Mr. Tuan Anh.
The Director of the Transport Hospital added that among the three patients, an 84-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital with severe respiratory burns and was being treated in the Intensive Care Unit. When transferred to Bach Mai Hospital, she was treated intensively at the Intensive Care Unit. The other two patients, in less severe condition, were transferred to the Poison Control Unit for treatment and monitoring.
According to Mr. Tuan Anh, the hospital has consulted with Bach Mai Hospital to find the best treatment plan for the old woman as well as other patients.
On the morning of May 24, Mr. Nguyen Trung Nguyen - Director of the Poison Control Center went directly to the hospital to support the treatment plan for the victims.
3 out of 6 fire victims were transferred from Transport Hospital to Bach Mai Hospital.
The remaining 3 victims are still being treated at the Transport Hospital. Doctors are closely monitoring them and their health is currently stable.
"We are focusing all human and material resources to treat the patient," Mr. Tuan Anh informed.
On the same afternoon, the Ministry of Health also sent a document requesting the Hanoi Department of Health and the Transport Hospital to focus on treating the patient.
In the early morning of May 24, a house in lane 119 Trung Kinh, Trung Hoa ward, Cau Giay district ( Hanoi ) caught fire. In just a few minutes, the fire flared up fiercely with many explosions.
The initial cause is believed to have come from an electric bicycle short circuit and fire. The fire killed 14 people and sent 6 to the emergency room.
