Club World Cup: Coach Enrique and Joao Pedro scuffle, choke each other

(NLDO) - The final match between Chelsea and PSG at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup ended in chaos, when coach Luis Enrique attacked Joao Pedro.

After the match ended, tension continued on the field when PSG lost 0-3 to Chelsea. Achraf Hakimi argued fiercely with Joao Pedro, coach Luis Enrique appeared with goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma of PSG, on the other side of the battle line were Andrey Santos and Romeo Lavia (Chelsea).

At the moment the argument became heated, Enrique lost his temper and acted inappropriately.

Specifically, Enrique and Pedro got into a scuffle, the PSG coach even angrily choked Joao Pedro. Not long after, Joao Pedro fell to the ground, causing more chaos. Staff and players from both teams immediately intervened to prevent the incident from escalating.

After the final whistle, tensions continued when Chelsea new signing Joao Pedro, who had only joined the team two weeks ago, collided with goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.

With this victory, Chelsea became the first team to win the Club World Cup in the new format, gathering 32 clubs and held over a month in the US.

Chelsea's journey has not been entirely smooth, as they lost to Flamengo in the group stage before making a strong comeback in the knockout stages.

The next FIFA Club World Cup will not return until 2029.
